42 New Briggate Gallery is a space set up by Lucy Gibson and Yvonne Carmichael in conjunction with Opera North Projects. The gallery has played host to various exhibitions which coincide and connect with Opera North's Productions.
Over the Summer period in 2007, the gap between the Opera season allowed the gallery to program a series of experimental events and exhibitions featuring regional artists.
The Summer Programme ran from Saturday 14th July to Saturday 8th September 2007, launching with a public preview of the first exhibition, Cannonball, featuring work from eight artists who graduated in the same year from the Leeds' arts institutes, which opened Saturday 14th July 5-8pm.
The 42 New Briggate Summer team consisted of Yvonne Carmichael, Victoria Lucas and Eva Rowson. More information regarding this curated project can be found here.
